Councilwoman & Member of the Las Vegas City Council | United States

Victoria Seaman was elected in the June 11, 2019, Special Election to complete the term for Ward 2 that ends in 2021. Since the passage of Assembly Bill 50 during the 80th Nevada Legislature, her term will be extended to 2022. Councilwoman Seaman is originally from California and is a descendant of José Antonio de la Guerra y Noriega, father of the land of the Californios. She is proud of her long and rich Hispanic heritage. She has lived in Nevada since 2005.

Councilwoman Seaman spent one term and two special sessions in the Nevada State Legislature representing Clark County’s Assembly District 34. In the Assembly, she was the Southern Majority Whip, Vice Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee, and served on the Judiciary and Legislative Operations Committees. She has an Associate degree in Political Science from the College of Southern Nevada stemming from her passion to serve her community.

As an elected official and community leader, Councilwoman Seaman has advocated for issues important to Nevada such as lower taxes, less government regulations for small business owners, guardianship issues to protect seniors, and solutions for education. She has also given many volunteer hours to her church, charities, and various not-for-profits. Her passion is giving back to her community and serving others.

Her ten years of formal education and training in esthetics, and subsequent 26 years of business experience, strong entrepreneurial spirit, and keen eye for detail are leadership attributes that have afforded her success in both business and politics. She holds Real Estate and Business Broker licenses in the State of Nevada. She also created, founded, and owned Day Spas, and successfully designed and manufactured a high-end product line for estheticians. She successfully sold those businesses in 2004 and 2009, but remains licensed in esthetics.

As part of her Council duties Ms. Seaman was appointed by the Mayor to the Springs Preserve Board, Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition, The Clark County Debt management Commission and the City of Las Vegas Audit Committee.
