With a decade of experience in the field of Intellectual Property Rights, including but not limited to Patents, Trademarks, Copyright (including open source) and Designs, across various industries such as Biotechnology, Fashion & Retail and Information Technology, Mr. Sougata Murmu, who started his journey from IP identification & protection, now works for one of the top IT companies in the world, Tata Consultancy Services Limited as a Legal Counsel overseeing primarily the IP-Legal aspects of various engagement models viz industry-academia, industry – startup & industry – industry ecosystem, right from creation to commercialization of IP.

With a degree in engineering and law (specialization in IPR), Sougata is a blend of IP, Law, Business, and Science.
