Onur Korucu has started and continued her professional life in multinational professional
services companies such as KPMG Turkey, PwC, and Grant Thornton UK & Ireland. She had
the opportunity to work as a part of senior management and experienced consultant in
different geographies of the world. She started working as a GRC, Cyber Security and Data
Protection senior manager within Avanade UK & Ireland last year; Avanade is a Microsoft
and Accenture joint venture global company. And also she got her new title, VP of
Consulting Cyber Security and Data Protection.
She is an information security, compliance, and privacy professional focused on emerging
technologies from information security and data protection topics. On top of her technical
engineering degree and M.Sc degree, she obtained her LL.M in Information and Technology
Law. She also completed a Business Analytics executive education program at the University
of Cambridge.
She published a book about risk-based global approaches to improve data protection. She has
also been publishing articles in prestigious magazines such as Harvard Business Review and
Tomorrow Magazine around trending technology, cyber security, and data privacy trends.
She also worked as a university lecturer in the Cyber Security graduate department. She has
experience speaking at ISACA Europe and ISACA Asia, IAPP, and GRC World Forum
conferences. She is a Women in Tech world ambassador and was nominated for the GRC
Role Model of the Year and Cyber Women of the Year awards. She has CISM, CDPSE,
CRISC, ITIL-F, and ISO 27001 LA certifications
