Partner of Silveiro Advogados, is a Brazilian lawyer with 20 years of professional experience, particularly in Business Law, Intellectual Property, Technology and Data Protection. He also worked at the Copyright Law Division (Culture and Creative Industries Sector) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland, dealing directly with governmental and intergovernmental agencies and some of the most important players of the international entertainment industry. He holds a Master of Laws degree – LL.M. in IP Law from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Madrid, Spain), a specialist degree in Business Law from Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (Porto Alegre, Brazil) and a CopyrightX certificate from Harvard Law School. He also holds a Data Protection Officer certificate (ECPC-B), from the European Center on Privacy and Cybersecurity of Maastricht University, (Brussels campus, Belgium). Among other academic activities, he has been a visiting professor at the Institute for Technology and Society (ITS) and Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) Postgraduation in Digital Law and lecturer/tutor at the WIPO Academy’s Distance Learning Program (WIPO Academy). Leonardo is also a member of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI) and the International Trademark Association (INTA). He has delivered many lectures and conferences and published a number of articles and works in Brazil and abroad, being co-author of the book “Releitura dos Acordos da OMC: como interpretados pelo Órgão de Apelação (Rereading of the WTO Agreements: as interpreted by the Appellation Body).
