Jeff has been actively engaged in complex intellectual property matters for over two decades, for some of world’s the most recognizable technology companies.  Prior to joining Blue Peak Law Group at its founding, he served as Chief IP Counsel and Chief Litigation Counsel at Tesla, and from 2006 to 2015 he held significant legal leadership positions at Apple, including Director of Patent Litigation and Director of Patent Strategy & Licensing,

Jeff has advised numerous technology companies in connection with IP strategy, transactions, licensing, and litigation, and has served as General Counsel and lead IP advisor to several successful technology startups. Intellectual Asset Management Magazine (IAM) has recognized Jeff as one of the “World’s Top IP Strategists” based on industry peer nominations.

At Blue Peak, Jeff represents both patent owners and implementers in complex IP litigation matters around the country, and advises clients on IP strategy, licensing negotiations and technology transactions.  Jeff is also building a mediation practice to leverage his extensive experience in resolving complex patent disputes from both the offensive and defensive perspective

Jeff began his career as an IP litigation associate at the Orange County, California offices of Latham & Watkins, LLP and Rutan & Tucker, LLP.  He received his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1995 and his J.D. from UCLA in 1999.
